THE CYCLAMEN STUDY
In the studio we were asked to design a pavilion where a plant would be an essential part of it.
I chose The cyclamen, a wild flower that can still be found in the city of Jerusalem, either in planned urban gardens or between the gaps of stone walls. The wood constructed sitting pavilion is challenging for people to get inside, say slightly uncomfortable. But once inside, the viewer lays down and has a clean view of the sky and of the cyclamen green leaves. The flowers themselves have raised above the structure and are not to be seen from inside.
